• Basic - Editorial make-up  Looking at the face shape, colour, skin type and tone. Application. Bases/powders/concealers etc, eye shapes, eyebrows, lip shapes/colours. Facial contouring. Nude looks, Beauty make-up. Make-up for men. Camouflage and Corrective make-up. Health and safety
• Colour theory, colour wheel, design sheets and portfolio building.
• Character make-up  Male and female make-up for theatre. Changing face shapes. Blocking out eyebrows and changing eye shapes. Ageing, theatre and character work using make-up, wigs, bald caps, old age stipple (latex) and facial hair.
• Basic hair  Basic cutting and sectioning hair, blow drying, setting hair in rollers, brick and directional. Electrical equipment, one length cut, one length/layered bob, fringes. blunt cutting, point cutting and basic layering, uniform layers and basic barbering, plus Health and safety.
• Fashion hair  You will learn techniques used on the catwalks and in the fashion industry including hair pads, plaits, backcombing and colours.
• Advanced/creative make-up  Fashion and photographic make-up, lighting, smokey eyes, glamour, creative looks using materials other than make-up and all incorporating hair styling
• Airbrushing  Starting with the basics of cosmetic airbrush work including airbrushing for high def and moving on to body work/body art.
• Wigs, facial hair and hair extensions  Theory of wigs. Getting hair prepared and ready for a wig. Learning how to do a cling film wrap and measurements to get wigs made. Applying wigs and hairpieces. Blocking wigs and general wig care. Knotting. Prepping techniques. Laying on facial hair with loose hair, full chin and moustache. Applying beards, moustaches, eyebrows, sideburns on face. Measurements for having facial hair made. Fitting a lace beard, moustache, sideburns and eye brows and hair extensions.
• Casualty effects and basic prosthetics  Applying wax etc, colouring, and finishing. Wounds, Bruising, Illness, Death, Shock, Skin disease, Scars, Tears and Sweat.  Dirtying Down, Basic wounds, Silicone, Applying prosthetic, Colouring and  blending, Nose shape changing. Applying and painting prosthetics. Applying eye bags and old age stipple. Ageing with prosthetics and applying bald caps.
• Period hair and make-up Theory and practical for a range of period looks.
• Industry week You will learn all about working on the set of a TV program or film, a photographic studio and theatre production. Working to briefs, mood boards, continuity, set etiquette and script breakdown.
• Bridal hair and make-up  This week will be dedicated to working on brides and the bridal party.
• Portfolio week  You will work on professional models and with a professional photographer to create several different looks for a professional portfolio. These images will be invaluable when you leave college in order to get work.
• Practice week  A full week going over what you have learned so far. You will be given briefs to work to, using a range of techniques. Hand in portfolios.
